Reverse Engineering
Transform Existing Parts into Accurate CAD Models
Whether you're recreating obsolete components, modifying existing designs, or starting without original drawings, we convert physical parts into precise, editable CAD models ready for manufacturing and project development.

OVERVIEW
Bringing Exisiting Parts Back Into the Digital World
Reverse engineering allows manufacturers, engineers, and product designers to recreate accurate CAD models when original design files no longer exist. Whether you're replacing worn components, updating legacy equipment, improving an existing design, or preparing a part for manufacturing, reverse engineering provides the digital foundation needed to move projects forward.
Common reasons companies reverse engineer parts:
Recreate discontinued or obsolete components
Modify or improve existing designs
Manufacture replacement parts
Document legacy equipment
Prepare parts for simulation or analysis
Build accurate digital product libraries

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you recreate broken parts?
Yes. We can use 3D laser scanning and reverse engineering to capture the geometry of a broken, damaged, or discontinued part and recreate it digitally. From the scan data, we can develop an accurate CAD model that can be used to manufacture a replacement part, make modifications, or create a prototype.
Which CAD software do you support?
We work with a variety of leading CAD platforms, including SolidWorks, Sold Edge, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor, and PTC Creo. We can provide files in commonly used formats to help ensure compatibility with your existing engineering and manufacturing workflow.
Can you modify existing designs?
Yes. We can modify existing CAD models to accommodate design changes, improve fitment, update dimensions, and/or remove features, or prepare a part for a new application. Whether you already have an existing CAD file or need us to scan and recreate the physical part first, we can help take the design through the next stage.
Do you provide native SolidWorks files?
Yes. When requested, we can provide native SolidWorks files so you can continue editing and developing the design within SolidWorks. We can also provide other commonly used file formats depending on your project requirements.
